Cheater Mobs are Back
Friday October 29th 2010
As the MUD is rather empty and I have no real time to pick up adminning I re-added the Cheater Mobs. There are four of them in total, 1 in De'Mir and 3 around it. Happy Killing!

Warpoint Vouchers
Friday March 26th 2010
The playerbase has been very low for a longer time, so PK is not happening at the moment. This results in a situation where you would not be able to mort anymore, unless you go exchange loads of questpoints at Jarra. At the moment I have not much time to really pick up Adminning, but for those that want to play, there is the opportunity of harvesting Warpoint Vouchers. Jarra loads them every once in a while. I will regularly check in and see if someone has them, and exchange every voucher that you have for 10 warpoints. With this system in place you can just go on playing if you like. Have fun!

New Cycle
Tuesday April 14th 2009
Due to an unfortunate disk error, that caused the MUD to be down for almost the whole day, some files were damaged and it would have taken quite some work to recover all the lost player data. Therefore we decided to pwipe the MUD and let the sixth cycle commence from this day onwards! Have fun!

Website Updates
Tuesday March 3rd 2009
A few new quotes were added to the website and the player page has been restructured. Everyone can only have one picture on the site. If you want to be on the list just send an email with the picture to rageofvengeance [at] gmail [dot] com. It does not matter which size the photograph is, if needed, we will resize it ourselves.

Furthermore we added a MUD logo to The MUD Connector and a banner to their normal free Banner rotation.

Killing Robots for Warpoints
Friday February 27th 2009
Since there is hardly any PK on the MUD at the moment, but you still need warpoints in order to remort, we decided to reward every kill on the robots again. The resulting questpoints will also be added to your amount of spendable warpoints. The warpoints will be added to your character as soon as I am available after a robot kill. Happy hunting!

N.B. Any multiplayers will be deleted, as the need to create a multi for warpoints is now gone.

All Time Statistics
Sunday October 26th 2008
The all time statistics have been updated. You can now see where you stand upon the all time top ten, top rating, top questpoints and such. These should be updated again around every week or two weeks at most. Have fun with them and happy hunting.

Playerwipe
Sunday October 12th 2008
Welcome to the fifth cycle of the new Rage of Vengeance. Hopefully this will last a while. The map has been reduced with more than 1/5th, and is now below 20,000 rooms. Cliff Fortress has returned, Druid Temple and Cavemen Cavern have been removed. Areas might have changed quite a bit, but the overall layout has not changed much, although some areas might be linked a bit peculiar if you knew the old map.

Furthermore XP has changed somewhat. Load mobs, aggressive mobs and some other mobs have been upped in XP. Homelands XP will only be beneficiary if you are below level 40.

Questpoints can be used for tiering. It will either drain the full amount needed from questpoints, or if available, from warpoints.

I hope you will have fun and let us know if there is anything that we can do for you.

Pwipe Update
Tuesday October 7th 2008
Things are warming up getting closer to Pwipe. Sunday will be the day! I just wanted to give you an update and schedule of Pwipe day.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 12, 08:00 PM C.E.S.T (System Time) PWIPE

- 11:00 AM System Time: Portal MUD: You can only login into the portal.
- 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM: Last preparations, fixes, checks etc etc.
- 07:00 PM System Time: Wizlock MUD: You can no longer login to the MUD.
- 07:00 PM - 08:00 PM: Final Preparations and actual Pwipe.
- 08:00 PM System Time: MUD Reopens!

Furthermore I would like to update you on the map changes. At the moment the map still consists of a little over 20k rooms. However, 4000 rooms have already disappeared (which is equal to 4 Grucko Lakes or almost 3 Krakka Deserts). Just wanted to let you know. Beware: Rymad's map on Ayukawa's website is no longer to be trusted.

Player Survey
Tuesday September 23th 2008
We opened up a player survey to find out what people like and dislike about Rage of Vengeance and what can be improved to create a very cool game for player killers. Please feel free to take the Player Survey. It will only take about 5 to 10 minutes and can help to make this MUD better. As a bonus you can also find out what kind of player you are. Please let us know what you like and what you like to see changed on Rage of Vengeance and help us improve it!

Update/Revision of the Links
Thursday September 11th 2008
I revised and updated the links page. The main reason was the unexpected shutdown of MUD Magic (which had recently moved to www.mudrage.com), but several links were outdated or the pages that were linked have disappeared.

You might also have noticed that the vote button for MUD Magic has been replaced by a Vote Button for Mud Lists. After the wipe, we will advertize on several (new) web pages dedicated to Mudding and online multiplayer games. This might also lead to more vote buttons. Feel free to vote for our MUD if you like it and as a bonus it might draw more players. Only one month until player wipe!

Pwipe Date
Tuesday September 2nd 2008
Good news. We decided on a Playerwipe date. The next cycle will start at Sunday October 12th 2008, 8:00 PM system time (C.E.T). This would be around 1:00 or 2:00 PM for most Americans.

Main changes for the upcoming wipe:
- Smaller and more interesting map!
- Character advancement will be revised to overcome getting stuck because you NEED warpoints.
- Masacre is working on a webinterface, which would be a benefit for all Telnet players. It is not sure if it will be fully available from the start but will be introduced when it is fully ready and stable.

That is all for now. Keep giving us input on things that might need revision!

Playerbase
Sunday August 3rd 2008
The current playerbase consists of 72 players in total, although a lot of players have been gone for a long time. The amount of active players, being the ones that have been online in the last seven days is 15. Four of these are newly rolled characters (Brotten, Saeft, Samson and Vatra). When you see them, please make them feel welcome. We need to keep every player we can.

Next week I will reward 25 warpoints to all active players if any one of you succeeds in making an old player that has not been online in the last seven days to log in and stay online for at least sixty minutes without logging off and without just being idle.

Killing of Robots for Warpoints
Thursday July 31st 2008
Since there is no PK on the MUD at the moment, but you still need warpoints in order to remort, I decided to reward every kill on the robots resulting in questpoints with the same amount of spendable warpoints. The warpoints will be added to your character as soon as I am available after a robot kill. Happy hunting!

Questpoints for Spell/Skill Improves
Friday September 14th 2007
According to some posts on the forum, people would like to use questpoints to buy spell/skill improves. I decided to add it in in order to test if this could be a valuable addition. The cost will be drained from your total qps instead of reward points, and will be:

Upgrade from below talented to talented: 25 questpoints
Upgrade from between talented and master to master: 25 questpoints.

As mentioned this is a test, maybe to be automated on the next cycle. Leave me a pray/note or email to notify me on your wishes. Please specify which spell/skill needs to be upped and to which lvl. I will see to it as soon as I can.

New MUD Email Address Tuesday January 2nd 2007
The old MUD email address mud [at] rofv . nl was a bit bugged and rather spammy so we decided to close it down. The new address can be found on the HOME part of the website. Please update your address books.

New Rage of Vengeance Battlegrounds: The Arena Thursday August 10th 2006
Masacre has been working on the Battleground and Arena code, and we are proud to present the first version of the new system to you. At the moment you can join the arena at any time in which you will fight in teams (2 vs 2) with pregenerated characters. This can earn you questpoints. For more information on the Arena: type 'help arena' and help 'arena command'..
